Barnes & Noble to Open New Edgewood Store

Atlanta’s Edgewood Retail District is welcoming a new bookstore on July 8. Barnes & Noble is returning to the area after its previous Edgewood store closed in 2022. It is the first of the three Atlanta-area stores that are scheduled to open this year.

According to the official announcement, Barnes & Noble’s new store spans more than 15,000 square feet. It is located at 1205 Caroline Street NE, in the former Office Depot space next to Kroger. It will offer books, toys, games, gifts, magazines, and a Barnes & Noble Cafe.

CEO James Daunt said he is excited to bring the brand back to the neighborhood. Following the Edgewood store, the brand is opening stores in Toco Hills and Peachtree Corners.

Barnes & Noble now operates more than 700 bookstores nationwide. It plans to open 60 new stores in 2026 as it continues expanding across the U.S.

Opening Highlights

The grand opening of Barnes & Noble in Edgewood will begin at 10 a.m. Author Tayari Jones will cut the ribbon and sign copies of her novel, Kin. The Cat in the Hat will make appearances during opening weekend for meet-and-greets and a special story time.

From July 8 to July 12, Barnes & Noble Premium and Rewards members will earn double stamps on purchases. The opening promotions also include $50 off NOOK devices and 40% off DVDs, Blu-ray, and 4K Ultra HD movies.

Barnes & Noble is expanding its footprint with its return to the Atlanta area. It also brings a new destination for book lovers and the local community.
