Mary Brown’s Chicken, a Canadian owned quick service restaurant chain specializing in hand breaded chicken, is preparing to open a new location at Toronto Pearson International Airport Terminal 3 in Mississauga at 6301 Silver Dart Drive.

The company’s upcoming airport location follows the opening of its flagship restaurant at The Tenor in downtown Toronto, which opened on June 23 and replaced Blaze Pizza after about 10 years at the location, according to 6ixRetail. The airport restaurant will be located inside Terminal 3, although an exact opening date has not yet been announced. Customers can expect Mary Brown’s signature chicken, sandwiches, combos, snacks, sides, and other menu items made with Canadian ingredients.

The new airport location is part of Mary Brown’s broader expansion strategy, which includes smaller and non-traditional formats in transit hubs, stadiums, malls, and mixed-use developments. The company has said not every new restaurant needs to include a full dining room, allowing the brand to enter more locations with different customer traffic patterns.

Mary Brown’s recently celebrated reaching 300 Canadian locations with an opening in New Brunswick, and continues to expand across the country. Founded in Newfoundland in 1969, the company has built its business around fresh, whole Canadian Grade A chicken that is hand-cut, hand-breaded, and prepared in each restaurant. The brand now operates locations across Canada, with its headquarters located in Markham.

The opening of Pearson Airport will add another travel-focused location to Mary Brown’s growing network. The company has already tested new ordering formats and digital tools at its Mary Brown’s Chicken locations on Spadina and Richmond in Toronto, with the Tenor flagship using those ideas on a larger scale. The airport restaurant will continue the company’s focus on adapting its format for high-traffic locations.

The brand’s menu includes its Signature Chicken, Big Mary Chicken Sandwich, chicken meals, combos, Taters made from Canadian potatoes, in-store-prepared coleslaw, desserts, and other sides. Mary Brown’s also highlights its use of fresh ingredients sourced from Canadian farmers and its proprietary cooking process designed to maintain the chicken’s flavor and texture.

Mary Brown’s is also connected to MBI Brands, which acquired Fat Bastard Burrito in 2022. The company operates both brands from its Markham headquarters and has been exploring opportunities to co-locate Mary Brown’s and Fat Bastard Burrito locations. The Pearson Airport restaurant is the next scheduled opening, as the company continues to expand its presence across Canada.
