Downtown Charleston is getting a new all-day cafe.
Luma, led by owner Owen Bernstein, will open at 128 Columbus St. with the tagline “Let Us Meet Again.”
“We want every visit to feel like coming back to somewhere that knows you. This is where familiar faces gather. Your spot is coming soon,” an Instagram post read.
Luma plans to serve house-made baked goods, fresh breads, sandwiches and an all-day brunch menu.
Menu highlights will include a gluten-free savory waffle made with a cauliflower base, miso, shiitake mushrooms, a poached egg, basil chili and cucumber slaw; a breakfast sandwich featuring Japanese milk bread, chipotle mayo, egg soufflé and bacon; and tiramisu French toast with brioche bread, mascarpone whip, espresso sauce and shaved chocolate.
Ahead of its opening, Luma is hosting a series of pop-ups in collaboration with Charleston businesses. Previous events have partnered with The Archer, Daps Breakfast & Imbibe and Prophet Coffee.
An official opening date has not been announced, but construction is underway with plans to open later this year. Visit the Luma website and follow along on Instagram for the latest updates.
