America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses, one of the largest optical retail chains in the United States, may be coming to Copperas Cove. According to public filings, the brand could open at 3010 E. Business Highway 190, Suite 224, within the Shops at Five Hills, with a construction completion date targeted for October 2026.
The location would mark America’s Best’s entry into Coryell County, bringing affordable eye care and eyewear to a market currently served by independent optometrists. What Now Austin reached out to America’s Best representatives, but did not get an answer prior to publication.
America’s Best operates more than 900 locations nationwide and is known for its accessible pricing model, offering two pairs of prescription eyeglasses and a free eye exam starting at $79.95, according to the brand’s website. In-store, customers can browse an extensive selection of frames, contact lenses, and prescription sunglasses across a wide range of styles and budgets, with on-site optometrists available for comprehensive eye exams.
The brand has expanded aggressively across Texas in recent years, with locations concentrated in major metros and an increasing push into mid-size and suburban markets. Copperas Cove sits adjacent to Fort Hood — one of the largest U.S. military installations in the country — giving the city a large base of active-duty military, veterans, and their families.
