The popular taco and margarita spot looks to be expanding into Southeast Michigan.
In a listing from Mid-America Real Estate, Condado Tacos is planning a location at the Fairlane Green Shopping Center, 3100 Fairlane Drive in Allen Park. This will join the planned Cava, Jersey Mikes and Shake Shack restaurants at the new site. An opening date has not yet been announced.
Condado has been serving shell tacos loaded with proteins and cilantro for over 10 years. It was founded in 2014 by Joe Kahn in Columbus, first debuting on 1227 North High Street in the Short North neighborhood. Since then, the chain has grown to over 50 locations across the U.S.
The shopping center is just west of the Southfield Freeway, and accessible by Outer Drive West. From conceptual pictures, Condado Tacos will go on the north side of the development. It joins many retail and restaurant chains, including LongHorn Steakhouse, Chili’s, Panera Bread and Chipotle.
As of now, the Allen Park location is not listed on their website. Condado Tacos currently operate restaurants across Southeast Michigan including Royal Oak, Ann Arbor, Troy and in Midtown Detroit.
What Now Detroit has reached out to representatives from Condado Tacos and is awaiting comment.
