Pop Mart is bringing another dose of collectible toy fever to South Florida.
The China-based designer toy retailer announced on Instagram that it will open a permanent store at Dolphin Mall, located at 11401 NW 12th Street. An opening date has not yet been announced. The new location will likely replace the brand’s current Pop Mart Robo Shop vending machine at the mall.
Founded in 2010 by entrepreneur Wang Ning, Pop Mart has grown into a global phenomenon with more than 500 stores and more than 2,300 Robo Shops in over 30 countries. The company is best known for its “blind box” collectibles, in which customers don’t know which figure they’re receiving until they open the package.
The retailer’s biggest sensation is Labubu, the mischievous, pointy-eared monster created by artist Kasing Lung. The viral characters have become a social media and celebrity favorite, helping fuel a worldwide craze for Pop Mart’s collectible toys. Other popular lines include Skullpanda and CryBaby, but Labubu remains the brand’s breakout star, with new releases routinely selling out within minutes.
