Refuge Coffee Co. Expands with New Lulah Hills Location

Refuge Coffee Co. is celebrating the grand opening of its Lulah Hills location on July 27. This will be the brand’s fourth retail location in metro Atlanta. The cafe occupies a former Meineke auto shop that has been renovated into a standalone coffeehouse.

Lulah Hills is a 78-acre mixed-use redevelopment replacing the former North DeKalb Mall in Decatur. It includes approximately 320,000 square feet of retail, 1,700 multifamily residences, and 100 townhomes. Retailers here include Publix, AMC Theatres, Marshalls, Anthropologie, Design Within Reach, Herman Miller, Solidcore, Firepit Pizza Tavern, among others.

Refuge Coffee Co. announced this expansion in March 2026. The new cafe draws inspiration from the company’s flagship Clarkston location. It features a modern design with large glass garage doors that create an open, welcoming atmosphere.

According to CEO and founder Kitti Murray, the nonprofit chose the project because developer EDENS shares its vision. The new location also advances the nonprofit’s mission of training and employing resettled refugees and immigrants.
