Chef Brian Bornemann, the owner of Crudo e Nudo in Santa Monica, is bringing a new concept to the community. Bornemann will open Bar Fortuna at 2917 Main St., according to a recent ABC filing. That space was previously home to Vamos Vamos.

What Now Los Angeles reached out to Bornemann’s team, who declined to comment further on Bar Fortuna at this time. However, Forbes recently reported that Bar Fortuna will spotlight handmade pasta dishes, fresh ingredients, Italian cocktails and a wine list designed by wine specialist J.D. Plotnick. The restaurant is targeting an early fall opening, according to Forbes.

A Santa Monica native, Bornemann opened sustainable seafood restaurant and natural wine bar Crudo e Nudo in 2021. Bornemann is also a chef ambassador for seafood brands Seremoni and Omega Azul.

Stay tuned for more details as this concept develops.
