The owners behind the adjacent concepts Habibi Lebanese Grill and Wine Bar and Royal Woodfired Pizza in the Marigny are planning a concept for Canal Street that seemingly blends the two establishments. According to a recent permit filing with the City of New Orleans, an LLC associated with the owners of the twin restaurants are looking to subdivide the former IHOP at 835 Canal St. for a new restaurant called Habibi Lebanese Grill & Pizza. A formal announcement has not been made, and What Now New Orleans has reached out for more information.

Kamil Jaouhari and partner Wasim Jamhour are behind both Habibi Lebanese Grill and Wine Bar and Royal Woodfired Pizza at 2483 Royal St. The former concept flexes a menu of Lebanese favorites, including hummus, falafel, shawarma, and house-made sausage. The latter Mediterranean concept serves up a small menu of Neapolitan-style pizzas and salads. Both restaurants opened earlier this year.
