St. Johns is getting a new spot for healthy drinks, good company and a little time to recharge, as husband-and-wife team Ben and Heather O’Neill prepare to open ROOTS Nutrition in the community.

Ben and Heather moved their family from Vermont to St. Johns about 10 months ago and have now made it to the stage where they are opening their own nutrition club at 153 Roberts Village Ct.

They are health coaches who say their approach is centered on making healthier habits feel simple, sustainable and enjoyable. ROOTS will offer personalized coaching and nutrition plans for people working toward different goals, from losing weight and gaining energy to building muscle or simply improving their overall nutrition.

The menu will include meal replacement shakes, energizing teas, protein coffees and hydration drinks, giving customers several options for a quick drink or something to keep them fueled throughout the day.

But the O’Neills say ROOTS is intended to be more than what is served across the counter.

The couple wants to create a welcoming space where parents, athletes, students, professionals and families can connect while working toward healthier lifestyles. That vision is also reflected in the new location, which the team says will give customers a place to grab a healthy drink, meet up with friends, work or simply take some time to recharge.

The O’Neills have been working behind the scenes to get the St. Johns location ready and recently introduced themselves to the community on social media, sharing more about their plans for ROOTS.

The business has not yet announced an official opening date, but said it is getting closer to opening its doors.
