Sargent to Open in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward

Lucian Books and Wine is opening a new restaurant called Sargent on August 18. The restaurant will be part of the development that includes the Forth Hotel and 3 Parks Wine in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward.

According to Eater Atlanta, the restaurant is named after American artist John Singer Sargent. Unlike Lucian’s European-inspired menu, Sargent will focus on American flavors. Co-owner of the restaurant, Katie Barringer, shared that Sargent will be in a lively neighborhood and is named after an artist they admire.

According to Atlanta Magazine, Sargent aims to embrace the energy of the BeltLine and surrounding neighborhood. It will combine familiar food, quality ingredients, classic techniques, wine, cocktails, books, art, and music.

What to Expect from Sargent

Sargent will be larger than Lucian, occupying a 6,000-square-foot space. It will include a full bar, a private dining room, and a covered patio connected to the Beltline. It will also feature a selection of books and magazines focused on food, wine, art, and music.

The Atlanta Magazine report also shares that the restaurant will seat around 165 guests and include an 18-seat bar. It will include a space featuring artwork, including murals by local artist Tommy Taylor.

Chef Jason Paolini created the menu, which will feature American-inspired dishes. Some dishes will feature wood-fired cooking. The menu will include oysters, crab cakes, steak tartare, Caesar salad, burgers, pasta carbonara, roasted chicken, duck, and prime rib.

Wine will remain a major part of the experience, along with a wider selection of cocktails and spirits. About half of the wine list will be priced at $85 or less.

Sargent’s opening will give Atlanta diners another destination for American-inspired cuisine, wine, and cocktails.
