Famous Footwear is working on another Las Vegas Valley opening! The footwear company will open its fourth Las Vegas location at the Charleston Commons at 61 N Nellis Blvd, according to a Facebook post from ROI Commercial Real Estate.
“Charleston Commons is about to get UNcommonly famous,” the Facebook post reads.
“We are excited to announce that Famous Footwear is coming soon to Charleston Commons!”
The exciting new addition to the East Charleston Boulevard and North Nellis Boulevard shopping center is expected to open later this year. Famous Footwear joins Walmart, Burlington, PetSmart, Ross Dress for Less, and Grocery Outlet at the Charleston Commons.
What Now Las Vegas reached out to Famous Footwear President Brian Costello to find out more about the upcoming opening and further expansion plans. Unfortunately, we did not hear back by the time of this publication.
“At Famous Footwear, we know that sometimes the best way to express yourself is through your shoes. After all, a new pair of shoes can say a lot,” the Famous Footwear website reads.
“They’re what make you stand out. Help you go faster. Or just add a pop of color to your personality. They’re just what you need to help make you… you. So whatever you’re famous for, we’ve got the famous brands perfectly fit for you.”
Famous Footwear began in 1960 when 29-year-old Neil Moldenhauer opened a single discount shoe store named Neil’s Factory Shoe Outlet in Madison, Wisconsin, using a $10,000 loan. The name “Famous Footwear” was introduced when a second store opened in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1964. By 1986, the chain expanded to 230 stores, backed by heavy regional and national growth. The growing chain eventually came under the umbrella of the St. Louis-based Brown Shoe Company, which officially changed its corporate name to Caleres in 2015.
