At the beginning of this year, The State published coverage about a new Parker’s Kitchen planned “along a bustling Columbia Road.”

That road is Garners Ferry Road, where Parker’s Kitchen, the popular Savannah-based restaurant-plus-gas-station-plus-convenience-store, was requesting a variance that would allow for construction of a new location at 7609 Garners Ferry Road.

That was back in January. Since then, progress has been made on the construction of the new Parker’s Kitchen.

Already, in May, Rock Creek Land Development published an update on Facebook about its construction progress.

“Our Team is making good progress at Parker’s Kitchen on Garners Ferry Rd in Columbia SC,” the post said, which included the photo above. “Today, sanitary sewer lines were installed and grease traps were set.”

The menu at Parker’s Kitchen includes breakfast choices like the Breakfast Bowl (eggs, grits & choice of breakfast meat), Biscuits & Gravy, and Fish & Grits (two cornmeal fried fish fillets & choice of grits). But it’s probably best known for its chicken, which is available in the form of a Chicken Sandwich (with both original and spicy varieties), Chicken Tenders, and the Family Meal (8 chicken tenders, 2 large sides, 4 yeast rolls, 1 gallon iced tea or fancy lemonade).

What Now reached out to a representative of Parker’s Kitchen on Thursday to ask about plans for the launch on Garners Ferry Road. The representative was not immediately available for comment.
