According to public filings, Firehouse Subs is expanding in the Austin area with two new locations planned for Manor and East Austin.

Firehouse Subs is a fast-casual sandwich chain known for its hot subs, including the Hook & Ladder, Firehouse Meatball, Turkey & Provolone, and Italian. According to the brand, its sandwiches are made with steamed meats and cheeses and served on toasted sub rolls.

The Manor location is planned for 12420 Tillgang Pass, Building 5, Suite 560, with construction completion targeted for the end of December 2026. The East Austin location is planned for 1200 Barbara Jordan Blvd., Suite 340, in Austin’s Mueller district, with construction completion targeted for December 2026.

Brian Eckel is the franchisee behind the projects and serves as chief financial officer of Central Texas Restaurant Group, a multi-entity restaurant holding company. What Now Austin reached out to Eckel to ask about the opening timeline for both restaurants but did not receive a response before press time.

The chain was founded in 1994 by firefighter brothers Chris and Robin Sorensen and has grown through franchising across the United States and internationally. Firehouse Subs is part of Restaurant Brands International.
