A Jacksonville, Florida-based boutique wellness studio is bringing its science-backed approach to self-care to the Boston area.

Degree Wellness will open its first two Massachusetts locations at 1158 Beacon Street, Unit 3 in Newton and 51A Church Street in Wellesley. The Newton studio is expected to debut within the next couple of months, with the Wellesley outpost to follow shortly after.

Husband-and-wife franchisees C.J. Horist and Pegah Safizadeh said their shared passion for all things wellness led them to Degree, and ultimately to bringing the concept to Greater Boston.

“My wife grew up in the area and imported me from California about five years ago,” C.J. told What Now Boston. “We’re both passionate about fitness, health, and longevity, and when we came across Degree Wellness, we knew we needed to bring it to the Greater Boston community. ”

Founded in 2018 by Amanda Watts Lightcap and Tom Lightcap, Degree Wellness combines a variety of wellness and recovery services under one roof. Guests can enjoy private suites for treatments ranging from infrared sauna sessions and cold plunges to full-body cryotherapy, red light therapy, and contrast therapy, which pairs heat and cold exposure.

The studios will also offer compression massages, oxygen therapy, vitamin shots, IV hydration, and NAD+ anti-aging treatments. Depending on the service, offerings are designed to support recovery, relaxation, energy, metabolism, skin health, and immunity.

Founding Memberships are now available for the Newton studio. The first 75 Founding Members can lock in a 20% discount on their membership rate for as long as they remain members, while all members will receive 25% to 35% off IV drips and nutrient shots.

Founding Members will also get early access during a VIP Week ahead of the official grand opening, with a complimentary session for each of the studio’s eight core services. They can also bring an unlimited number of guests, with each guest receiving one complimentary session to use on any single service.

Current Founding Membership options include the $69-per-month Core plan for two sessions, the $169-per-month Premier plan for eight sessions, and the $269-per-month Unlimited plan. Memberships can be reserved with no money down, and members will not be charged until the grand opening, after VIP Week.

“Whether you’re a busy parent, athlete, fast-paced executive, retiree, or health advocate, Degree Wellness is designed to fit your schedule,” said C.J. “We’re proud to bring an elevated, personalized approach to self-care to the Greater Boston community.”

Once open, the new locations will operate from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends. For sneak peeks and official grand opening updates for the Newton and Wellesley studios, be sure to follow @degreewellness on social media.
