Tractor Supply Co. is opening its first Bend location at 700 SE 3rd Street, taking over the space long occupied by Rite Aid near Grocery Outlet. David Lockard, who manages the company’s nearby Redmond store, confirmed to What Now Portland that the Bend location is targeting an October opening, though those dates could still shift slightly as construction wraps up.

The Bend store will become Tractor Supply’s second Central Oregon location, joining the Redmond store that opened earlier this year. Despite its name, Tractor Supply carries far more than farm equipment, stocking livestock and pet feed, animal health products, workwear, hardware, lawn and garden supplies, outdoor equipment and country style home décor, aimed at a broad rural and suburban customer base rather than just working farmers.

According to The Bulletin, the opening fits into a larger statewide push for the Tennessee-based chain, which operates more than 2,000 stores nationwide, concentrated mostly in the eastern and Midwestern United States. The Bulletin also reported that Lockard said the company expects to grow its Oregon footprint from roughly six stores to about 16 statewide by the end of 2026, though he noted final expansion decisions rest with company leadership.

The former Rite Aid building sits along a stretch of Southeast 3rd Street that has seen a wave of turnover recently, part of the broader closure of Rite Aid stores across Oregon following the chain’s bankruptcy and full shutdown last year.
