Vertica Fitness, a pole fitness studio offering pole-based fitness, dance, and conditioning classes, is getting ready to open a new location in Houston at 10628 and 10630 Northwest Fwy.
The company’s new Houston location is scheduled for an interior renovation beginning October 1, 2026, with completion expected by December 31, 2026, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The project, listed as a renovation and alteration, will involve an interior tenant alteration to accommodate a Vertica Fitness dance studio. The project is privately funded and is expected to cost approximately $250,000. An exact opening date has not been announced.
The Houston studio will span approximately 2,893 square feet, according to the filing. The project scope states that all work will take place inside the space and will follow the approved plans. Ranee Brunner is listed as the franchise owner for the location.
Vertica Fitness offers several types of classes centered around pole fitness and movement. Fit classes focus on flexibility and conditioning using a pole, while Flirt classes combine sensual dance and choreography. The company also offers FLY classes, which use a leveled curriculum covering skills from beginner techniques through advanced spins, tricks, and poses.
Founded by Katrina Wyckoff, Vertica Fitness was launched in 2022 following her experience operating pole studios and competing in pole sports. According to the company, Wyckoff opened her first pole studio in 2014 and a second in 2018, before reimagining the concept as Vertica Fitness. The company now lists locations in Atlanta, Hope Mills, Charlotte, Chapel Hill, Houston, Orlando, Los Angeles, and Lawrenceville, with additional locations coming soon.
The Houston studio will offer membership options that include eight classes per month with video library access, as well as unlimited class memberships. The company also offers a beginner trial class called V 101, designed for people with no previous pole fitness experience. Vertica Fitness says its studios welcome customers of different ages, abilities, and experience levels, with both beginner and advanced programs available.
