Eastern Michigan students and Ypsi locals are getting a new burger spot.
BurgerFi is experiencing a comeback around the country, and the newest Michigan location is coming to 2997 Washtenaw Road in Ypsilanti. Right now, their only operating restaurant in the state is in Northville. The team is anticipating a fall opening date.
It was announced in June that Happy Group, which Happy Asker owns, had acquired BurgerFi. The group also manages Savvy Sliders, Fat Boy’s Pizza and Happy’s Pizza. The group is described as a “powerhouse family-owned restaurant enterprise with 200+ locations across four iconic brands.
Those dining in or taking out from BurgerFi have a wide range of patty options, along with chicken sliders and tenders. The signature BurgerFi Cheeseburger comes with Fi sauce on top of an angus beef patty. Their custard shakes are popular compliments to the sandwiches, with flavors like chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and oreo.
BurgerFi is under construction on the north side of Washtenaw Avenue, sharing space with Miny’s Mexican Restaurant. This is not the only other restaurant in the plaza, as Antonio’s Coney Island and Spice Palace Indian Cuisine surround the building. The storefront is a short drive west of downtown Ypsilanti.
What Now Detroit has reached out to the Happy Group team and is awaiting further comment on the new location. More information on BurgerFi can be found on their website.
