Mark Rich’s New York Pizza & Pasta is slated to make an iconic return to the Las Vegas Valley. The Las Vegas staple, which closed all of its locations, is slated to reopen this time in Pioneer Park. According to a City of Las Vegas permit, Mark Rich’s New York Pizza is expected to open within the Rock Springs Plaza at 1930 Rock Springs Dr.
The address sits near the Summerlin and Desert Shores areas and previously belonged to Old School Pizzeria.
What Now Las Vegas reached out to Jersey Girl Ventures LLC‘s Danielle M. Buda, who was listed on the permit. Buda confirmed the opening but was unable to share further details by the time of this publication. What Now also reached out to the founder of the brand, Mark Rich. Unfortunately, we did not hear back by the time of this publication.
The locally owned Italian eatery in Las Vegas was founded by Rich, an entrepreneur from New Jersey with a background in the local nightlife and entertainment industry, in August 1994. Rich moved to Las Vegas in 1974. He worked as an early DJ and ran Paul Anka’s Jubilation nightclub before transitioning into the culinary world. He spent 28 years owning and operating Italian restaurants under the Mark Rich’s New York Pizza and Pasta name in the Las Vegas Valley, featuring classic thin-crust, hand-tossed pies made with fresh dough daily alongside traditional pasta entrees.
Over the years, locations included spots in Centennial Center (West Tropical Parkway) and near Red Rock on West Charleston Boulevard. The locations have since closed down as Rich transitioned into small business consulting.
With the brand making a comeback, excitement is already mounting. The old website no longer works, and the Facebook page has been taken down, so no word just yet on when exactly the new Mark Rich’s New York Pizza will open and what else it will serve. But as we inch closer to opening, we’re sure more will be revealed. So, keep your ears perked and your eyes peeled for the latest.
