According to public filings, Whataburger plans to open a new location at 2733 TX-36 Business in Gatesville. Permitting records list a start date of June 8, 2026, and a completion date of January 4, 2027.
Founded in Corpus Christi in 1950 by Harmon Dobson, Whataburger has grown to more than 1,100 locations across 17 states and is known for its orange-and-white A-frame buildings and fast-casual menu of made-to-order food. Whataburger’s offerings range from burgers and chicken sandwiches to breakfast items, fries, shakes, desserts, and other fast-food options.
What Now Austin reached out to Whataburger representatives to inquire about an opening timeline but did not receive a response prior to publication.
