Torchy’s Tacos is expanding its Austin footprint with a new location at East Village. According to public filings, the Austin-born chain plans to open at 3500 East Parmer Lane, Suite 10150, within East Village Retail, Building 10. What Now Austin reached out to Torchy’s Tacos representatives who confirmed an opening targeted for spring 2027.
Torchy’s Tacos was founded in Austin in 2006 and has grown into one of Texas’ most recognizable fast-casual chains, known for its irreverent branding and menu of specialty tacos with names like the Trailer Park, the Democrat, and the Fried Avocado. The menu also includes queso, green chile pork, breakfast tacos served all day, and a rotating lineup of limited-time specialty tacos, alongside margaritas and a full bar at most locations.
The opening is part of Torchy’s continued Texas expansion. What Now previously covered the brand’s upcoming Waxahachie location, where a company representative told What Now Austin that Torchy’s plans to continue expanding throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin markets.
“With each new restaurant, we’re focused on creating local jobs and becoming an active part of the neighborhoods we serve,” the representative said.
The East Village location places Torchy’s at one of Austin’s most ambitious new developments, a large-scale mixed-use project in Northeast Austin along the East Parmer Lane corridor, adjacent to the Samsung semiconductor campus. The development has been drawing significant interest from food and beverage operators, with What Now Austin previously covering District 1 Coffee & Co. opening in the same corridor.
