The chef-owners behind the hotly tipped Metairie bistro Dr. Jones are preparing to pick up sticks and move to Uptown, possibly transitioning the concept into something slightly different. According to a report from NOLA.com, the new spot at 4842 Tchoupitoulas St. will carry on Dr. Jones’ practice of serving elevated bistro fare. However, it might not carry on the good doctor’s name. The new restaurant will reportedly open this fall, and What Now New Orleans has reached out for additional details.
Since opening last year, Dr. Jones has developed a well-deserved reputation for dispensing tasty chef-driven fare. Owners David Rouse and Billy Jones have been fixtures in the local dining scene for year, plying their trades at Herbsaint and Cochon respectively, among other places. The pair quickly outgrew Dr. Jones current location, which seats about 24 guests.
