Valley Dollz plans to open this fall at 511 W. University Drive, Suites 1 and 2, in Tempe. Co-owner Jessica Raymond told What Now Phoenix that the team has scheduled a soft launch for October 2.
Raymond came up with the idea while selling products from her brand, Gemini Gipsi, at local pop-up markets. As she worked alongside other women vendors, she repeatedly heard that they wanted a shared place to sell their products.
“There was no space for all of us to be able to come together in one boutique space,” Raymond said.
She later approached Anna Viviano, who owns Fae Feathers and had wanted to open a boutique, about becoming her business partner.
Inside Valley Dollz, women-owned businesses will be able to rent racks or shelves rather than operate separate storefronts. Customers will find products from several vendors, including Y2K fashion, vintage and secondhand clothing, jewelry, skincare, soap, and other handmade goods.
The boutique will also display work by local women artists.
Another part of the space will be reserved for workshops led by instructors, artists, and other creatives. Valley Dollz is accepting proposals from people interested in teaching classes or hosting activities at the boutique.
