Out with the old and in with the new! A new “watering hole” is coming to the Upper West Side this fall.
Pickle Hospitality Group will debut its latest concept, Velvet Cowboy, at 509 Amsterdam Ave. The new spot will take over the former Jacob’s Pickles space, which has since relocated to 680 Columbus Ave. Jacob’s Pickles also operates under the group’s umbrella.
“Dust off your boots, grab your favorite partner, and get ready to throw back a few, and ride ‘till the sun comes up!” an Instagram post read.
While details remain limited, the team plans to put its own psychedelic spin on the Wild West.
Plenty of “yee-haws” have flooded the comments on the announcement post, with many hoping the new spot will become a destination for line dancing.
Pickle Hospitality Group was founded by Jacob Hadjigeorgis in 2011 with Jacob’s Pickles, known for its beer, biscuits and pickles, as its first restaurant. The group later expanded with Maison Pickle, a retro-chic eatery, and Tiki Chick, a bar serving tropical cocktails and chicken sandwiches.
An official opening date has not yet been announced for Velvet Cowboy, but its Instagram teases the restaurant is “saddling up later this month,” hinting at a late September debut.
