Hasta la Tambora, the popular Dominican food truck at 913 E Hillsborough Ave. in Tampa, is preparing to move into brick and mortar. A recent plan review submitted by the locally owned business shows El Patio by Hasta la Tambora opening at the same address 913 E Hillsborough Ave.
The food truck last updated its Facebook community with an post on its progress in mid-July.
“Our Hasta la Tambora family: Thank you!” says the post, originally in Spanish. “Each visit, each order, and each word of support reminds us why this dream is worth fighting for.”
The post describes an ongoing construction and growth process that will bring the community “a place that represents the best of our Dominican culture.”
What Now reached out on Tuesday to owner Priscilla Mendez to ask about plans for the launch. Mendez could not be reached immediately for comment, but What Now is awaiting a response by email, so stay tuned for an update.
“Thanks you for believing in us, for your patience, and for following this process together with our family,” the post continues. “The best is yet to come. We’ll see you at El Patio!”
