A new omakase-style restaurant is expected to open in Gainesville this year. Anaba Sushi will open at 610 Grove Street in Downtown Gainesville.
Chef Jason Vullo is bringing the concept to life, backed by Roland Stanley, the owner of local restaurant The Stag Chophouse and Peyton’s Pie Company.
In a previous video, Stanley shared plans regarding the 1,200-square-foot space that will house Anaba Sushi. Plans included the buildout of two bars, one of which will be a sushi bar. There will also be an outdoor element.
The menu will feature sushi alongside craft cocktails.
In a recent Facebook announcement, Stanley stated that Anaba Sushi is “getting very close” to opening, though an exact timeline has not been announced yet.
Stanley is also part of the team behind Communion Street Market, which has been taking shape at Homestead at Hog Mountain in Dacula. Communion Street Market, which will house an outpost of Peyton’s Pie Company as well as cocktail bar Better Days, Smash Shack and Big Burritos, is slated to open at the end of September.
