A new Starbucks location is brewing in Jonquière.
The 2,000-square-foot spot will open at 3750 Harvey Blvd., across from the A&W restaurant, according to Informe Affaires.
Starbucks will feature indoor seating to accommodate up to 40 guests, a 20-seat outdoor patio and a drive-thru.
The coffee chain is known for its wide selection of coffee, espresso, tea, matcha and Refreshers, along with breakfast items, pastries, sandwiches and snacks. Starbucks also has a popular “secret menu,” featuring customer-created drink combinations and customizations inspired by existing menu items.
Starbucks opened its first location in 1971 at Seattle’s historic Pike Place Market, where it sold fresh-roasted whole-bean coffee from around the world. Twelve years later, Howard Schultz transformed Starbucks into a coffeehouse after drawing inspiration from Italy’s café culture.
The name comes from Moby-Dick and the history of early coffee traders, while the twin-tailed siren logo invites customers to experience its coffee.
Starbucks operates more than 32,000 locations across 80 countries. The new Jonquière location will expand the brand’s international footprint and join nearby locations in Chicoutimi.
Construction is expected to start next month, targeting a summer 2027 opening.
