A Peruvian restaurant coming to Uptown will offer homestyle, family recipes for traditional dishes such as pollo a la brasa, or charcoal-grilled chicken. Set to open in the former Tal’s Hummus location 4800 Magazine St., Pacha Mama’s has bult a loyal following through a series of local pop-ups serving classic Peruvian dishes like the stir-fry lomo saltado and anticuchos beef skewers. An opening date has not been announced and What Now New Orleans has reached out for more information.
While Peruvian cuisine isn’t prolific in New Orleans, Pacha Mama’s is set to join another Peruvian spot on the street: Social at 5015 Magazine. That being said, Social takes a more modern and elevated approach to the cuisine, while Pacha Mama’s appears set to take a more traditional route.
