Hudson House is continuing to expand its footprint across the Greater Houston region. According to a recently filed Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation permit, the New England seafood and Hudson Valley comfort food brand is planning to open a new eatery in Memorial City within the Greenside Shopping Center at 1085 Gessner Road, Suite 290.
The permit further details that construction is expected to start a little after mid-November and is slated to be wrapped up by the beginning of April 2027. If all goes well with permitting and the estimated $2,000,000 construction project, the new Hudson House should be open by next Spring.
Vandelay Hospitality Group runs the brand. What Now Houston reached out to the hospitality group’s Project Coordinator, Hannah Judd, to find out more about the exciting new development. Judd confirmed the opening but was unfortunately unable to share further details by the time of this publication.
“Our flagship, East Coast-inspired neighborhood restaurant is known for elevated American cuisine, warm hospitality, and a vibrant atmosphere,” the Vandelay Companies website reads.
“Since opening in 2017, Hudson House has grown to 10 locations and is a go-to for lunch, brunch, dinner, and a celebrated happy hour.”
The concept was founded in the summer of 2017 in Highland Park by Hunter Pond, CEO of the Dallas-based Vandelay Hospitality Group. The menu and atmosphere combine traditional New England seafood eateries and Hudson Valley comfort food with a classic neighborhood hangout. It is well-known for fresh raw-bar oysters flown in daily, New England-style lobster rolls, and its self-proclaimed “World’s Coldest Martini”, alongside a surprisingly popular double-patty cheeseburger.
Following its debut on Lovers Lane in Dallas, the brand expanded quickly across upscale North Texas neighborhoods including Lakewood, Addison, and Preston Hollow. It branched out regionally, opening locations in Fort Worth (housed in a historic 1930s ice plant building), Houston (River Oaks and Rice Village), Southlake, and expanding its footprint toward Highland Village and San Antonio.
There are now 12 Hudson House locations open, primarily across Texas, primarily across Texas, with ongoing expansions planned for additional spots.
