A new nonprofit grocery store is preparing to open in Denver’s Montbello neighborhood, with a focus on making fresh and affordable food more accessible to local residents.
The Denver Table Market, also known as the Denver Table Market Consortium Fresh Food Market, is being developed as a community-focused grocery store at the FreshLo Campus in northeast Denver. The market was formerly known as FreshLo Market.
According to the Denver Table Market website, the organization was founded in 2024 by a group of local organizations focused on improving food access. The market is designed to offer fresh, convenient and nutritious food while keeping prices accessible to the communities it serves.
The organization says the store will also take guidance from the surrounding community when deciding which products to stock, including culturally important foods.
The market is part of the larger FreshLo Campus at 12444 Albrook Drive, a community development that combines food access with affordable housing and opportunities for local entrepreneurs. The campus includes 97 affordable housing units as well as a Business Accelerator featuring a coffee shop and four small businesses launched by graduates of the Montbello Organizing Committee’s entrepreneurship program.
The Denver Architecture Foundation highlighted the Denver Table Market as part of a recent tour of the FreshLo Campus, describing it as a nonprofit community grocery store intended to provide fresh, healthy and affordable food options to the neighborhood.
The project is also backed by federal funding efforts. U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet’s FY2027 appropriations requests list $1.5 million for the Denver Table Market, describing the project as a nonprofit community grocery and food-access initiative serving food-insecure neighborhoods in Denver County.
The Denver Table Market’s website currently lists its operating hours as “Coming Soon!” and encourages visitors to follow the organization for updates as the grocery store prepares to launch. The organization lists its contact address at 4660 Peoria, Suite 101, in Denver.
The market is expected to become one component of the broader FreshLo Campus, which aims to combine housing, food access, entrepreneurship and community resources in one development.
