Maria’s Mexican in NY Prepares for Next Year Closure
Well known for its authentic and traditional Mexican flavors, Maria’s Mexican Restaurant has served the community for more than four decades. The family-friendly restaurant was founded in 1980 and has built a strong following in the community with its scratch-made menu.
The restaurant space is filled with lively music and the delicious aroma of coffee and classic margaritas. All the dishes are prepared with fresh local ingredients and follow traditional culinary techniques.
The restaurant team announced the closure news with a social media post. The restaurant, located at 75 W Main Street in Webster, New York, will close down permanently in early 2027.
The team wrote that Maria’s was more than just a restaurant for the community; it has been, “A place we have loved, had our own families grow up in, and have loved and enjoyed seeing you all, and your families grow! It is more than just a building; it was our home; and a dream!”
The restaurant thanked the community, staff, and customers, and wrote, “Thank you to all of our customers, family, and friends, and staff, we wouldn’t be able to do what we love, or have been able to continue for as long as we have without you!”
Building Redevelopment Prompts Closure
The restaurant cited redevelopment plans for the building as the reason for leaving its current location.
In the closure announcement post, the restaurant team noted that the redevelopment plans have already begun.
They also highlighted the challenges of sustaining a family-owned business, especially after COVID.
The team is currently looking for a new location to relocate and said “Wherever that will be, and hope you will join us at that new location wherever it may be!”
As Maria’s enters its last chapter of service in Webster, it encourages the community to visit the restaurant and enjoy one more meal.
