It’s a busy time for International Plaza and Bay Street, the large upscale mall near the Tampa International Airport. Anchored by retailers like Dillard’s, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom, the mall has been updating its retail roster this year. What Now has already reported on new arrivals like Vuori, BRITTO, Kendra Scott, and Roberto Coin.
Now, another apparel brand is preparing to join International Plaza: Banana Republic. According to coverage by the Tampa Bay Business Journal, the high-end Gap-owned clothier will open a new store there next year.
At Banana Republic, customers will find a selection of men’s and women’s clothing characterized by Gap Inc. CEO Sonia Syngal in the Business Journal coverage as “modern, acceptable luxury focused on the senses.”
“Our story began in 1978 as a travel outfitter, known for quality clothing and accessories destined for adventure,” says the Banana Republic About page on the Gap Inc. website. “Today, this spirit lives on in heritage-inspired pieces with a modern sensibility, and new favorites designed to take you from work to weekend, airport to destination, and everywhere in between. We create classics with character—working with renowned mills around the world on premium fabrics, effortless silhouettes, and thoughtfully-crafted details.”
Opening next year, Banana Republic will occupy a 5,450-square-foot space at International Plaza.
