A well-known Brockton automotive business is adding another location to its growing footprint.

Pires Brothers Automotive is preparing to open a new facility at 790 West Chestnut Street, marking the family-owned company’s fourth location in Brockton. The new shop, which will operate as Pires Bros. West Auto Body, is currently under construction, according to co-owner Procópio Pires.

“My brothers and I are very excited about our new location,” Procópio told What Now Boston. “This expansion represents an important milestone for our family and our company as we continue to grow and invest in the Brockton community.”

Pires Brothers Automotive was founded in 2007 by six brothers, including Procópio. The business started with just two employees at 62 Eliot Street, providing everything from routine oil changes to major engine repairs for all types of vehicles. Nearly two decades later, the company has grown to a team of 26 full-time employees, including several founding members with nearly 30 years of combined experience in the automotive repair industry.

As the business has grown, so have its facilities and range of services. The brothers moved into their own facility at 13 Watson Street in February 2010, before relocating again in September 2017 to a larger space at 50 Meadowbrook Road, which remains the brand’s flagship location. Over the years, the company continued expanding its offerings to meet the needs of its growing customer base.

In 2018, Pires Brothers expanded beyond traditional automotive repair by adding towing services and investing in a fleet of three tow trucks. The company later acquired a second facility at 693 North Montello Street, where it specializes in auto body services while also offering used vehicle sales and Massachusetts State Inspection services. In 2023, the company opened its third Brockton location on Main Street.

The upcoming shop will focus on collision and auto body repair. The facility is being outfitted with modern equipment and updated technology to increase the company’s repair capacity. Procópio said the new space will also allow the company to expand its automotive services to include vehicle diagnostics, ADAS safety-system calibration, wheel alignment, mechanical work, and more.

Among the new facility’s features will be the NexAlign Diagnostic & ADAS Calibration Center, dedicated to diagnosing and calibrating the advanced driver-assistance systems found in many newer vehicles. The technology can include safety features such as sensors and cameras that need to be properly recalibrated following certain types of collision repairs.

Pires Brothers Automotive also holds I-CAR Gold Class status for collision repair and is a Honda & Acura Certified Collision facility. “Our goal with this expansion is not simply to open another shop, but to continue raising the standard of collision repair in our community,” Procópio said.

For the Pires family, the expansion is also about creating new opportunities in the community where they grew up. “Most importantly, Brockton is home to us,” said Procópio. “We want this location to create additional jobs, provide opportunities for young people interested in the automotive industry, and allow us to serve more families, businesses, insurance partners, dealerships, and local fleets.”

The brothers are currently completing construction and preparing the West Chestnut Street facility for operations. An official opening date has not yet been set, though the company plans to share updates through its Facebook and Instagram pages as the project progresses and grand-opening plans come together.
