Elmisa Cafe plans to relocate from its current location to 16773 Bernardo Center Drive, within The Plaza Rancho Bernardo, with an opening targeted for mid-November 2026. Owner Eddy Jabbour confirmed the timeline and said the goal is to be open before December.
Founded in 2020, Elmisa is a family-owned cafe founded by Eddy and Roula Jabbour, who named the space after their three daughters: Elise, Mia, and Sasha.
The cafe offers a variety of sandwiches, salads, bowls, and refreshments, all made with fresh ingredients. It also serves Boar’s Head meats and cheeses, along with homemade sauces.
Elmisa currently operates at 11611 Rancho Bernardo Road, four minutes from the planned Plaza Rancho Bernardo location.
The move comes down to one word: parking.
“Parking has always been the biggest challenge for us. We have built such a great business, and we’ve definitely outgrown it,” Eddy told What Now San Diego.
The current location shares a small complex with 41 parking spots and no nearby street parking. With the move, Jabbour hopes to address this issue and make it easier to accommodate guests, particularly members of the senior community, which makes up a significant portion of Rancho Bernardo’s population.
The new address will offer more parking, a slightly larger footprint, and a better patio, improvements Eddy hopes will excite regulars and attract new customers.
The menu will remain largely intact, with only minor adjustments under consideration.
“We have a great menu, so for the most part it’s going to be the same,” Eddy said.
The family-owned identity remains central to this new location.
“We’re a family business, and we opened really to offer food that we can feed our kids. We’re very passionate about good quality, healthy food and to offer that to the community,” Jabbour told What Now San Diego.
