AutoZone is planning stores at 6902 Camino Real in Maxwell and 1132 E. Pierce St. in Luling, according to project filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
The Maxwell project calls for the ground-up construction of a 7,200-square-foot building at an estimated cost of $884,877. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in April 2027 and conclude in September 2027.
In Luling, AutoZone plans to build a 7,831-square-foot store at an estimated cost of $898,334. According to the filing, construction is planned to run from June through October 2027. The company has not announced opening dates for either location.
AutoZone carries replacement parts and maintenance supplies for cars, SUVs, vans, and light-duty trucks. Products include batteries, brakes, filters, spark plugs, engine oil, wiper blades, vehicle lighting, tools, and accessories.
Some AutoZone stores also offer battery testing and installation, check-engine-light diagnostics, tool loans, and automotive-product recycling.
AutoZone opened its first store as Auto Shack in Forrest City, Arkansas, in 1979. The retailer has since grown to more than 8,000 stores across the United States, Mexico, and Brazil.
