Taco Bell and Milk Bar are collaborating on a new empanada that will officially debut on October 15. The all-new Milk Bar Birthday Cake Empanada will be available to satisfy sweet tooths nationally for a limited time only.
The latest Taco Bell treat features Milk Bar’s signature birthday cake flavor wrapped in a golden, crispy exterior, with pink frosting and rainbow sprinkles. It is priced at just $3.49.
Taco Bell and Milk Bar Team Up for a Third Time
This isn’t the first collaboration between Taco Bell and Milk Bar. The brands first teamed up in 2022 on the Strawberry Bell Truffle. Then in 2025, the Sweet shop and fast-food powerhouse offered crispy churros filled with birthday cake frosting.
“Our fans have shown us they love seeing familiar flavors show up on the Taco Bell menu in exciting ways, and that’s what makes partnering with Milk Bar so great,” Liz Matthews, Global Chief Food Innovation Officer at Taco Bell, said in a press release. “The Milk Bar Birthday Cake Empanada lets us take an iconic Birthday Cake flavor and reimagine it as a crispy Taco Bell treat that’s nostalgic, unexpected, and made for celebrating everyday moments.”
The launch of the Milk Bar Birthday Cake Empanada is part of a bigger business strategy to heighten customer engagement by introducing a cross-brand partnership.
The collaboration brings together Milk Bar’s dessert-driven approach with Taco Bell’s Live Más brand identity, creating a limited-time offering designed to generate excitement among fans of both brands.
Chef and Founder of Milk Bar Christina Tosi emphasized the excitement the new offering brings to guests.
“Our Birthday Cake has always been about making people feel celebrated, so getting to dream up a totally new way for fans to experience it with Taco Bell was such a fun creative challenge,” Tosi said in the release. “What I love most is seeing a flavor people know so well show up in a way they never expected. The best part is you don’t need a birthday to enjoy it.”
Taco Bell is making the launch special for loyalty members. Between October 15 and October 28, Taco Bell Rewards members who share their birthdays in their profiles will receive a special reward of either the new Milk Bar Birthday Cake Empanada or a regular Mountain Dew Baja Blast Freeze available through the mobile app only.
