The word is out, but the owners are keeping the restaurant under wraps for now.
It is being reported Flint Farmers’ Market at 300 E 1st Street is getting a new restaurant addition. This space is already home to a number of dining options including Steady Eddy’s Cafe and MaMang Vietnamese. Right now, the team is looking to debut the addition sometime next year.
The new concept is joining expansion plans for the farmers’ market, including a year-round outdoor space for sitting and eating. Michigan State University is also expanding their Dairy Store concept at the space. Uptown Reinvestment Corporation, a property management company, is behind the project.
“Together, these projects will drive more activity downtown, attract new visitors, and strengthen the Flint Farmers’ Market’s role as a community gathering place and economic driver,” Tim Herman, URC President, said in a news release.
The farmers’ market is at the intersection of E 1st and Sevens streets, also sharing the building with SoS Icecream. The restaurants next door include Golden Boy’s and Snacky Brown Bakery. This is on the north end of downtown Flint, close to the University of Michigan – Flint campus.
A menu for the new restaurant and information on the concept will be released closer to the opening date. What Now Detroit has reached out to Herman and is awaiting comment. More updates on the new restaurant addition can be found on the Flint Farmers’ Market website.
