Dessert in DC is about to get the kind of treatment that’s usually reserved for the main course. The Asheville-based Crave Dessert Bar is coming to the District, giving the titular meal a high-end glow-up, reports the Washington Business Journal.
Crave will be making its DC debut at 2 Massachusetts Avenue NW. The historical 10,000-square-foot building was last occupied by Truist Financial Corp.
Crave Dessert Bar currently has an application in for a liquor license with the Alcoholic Beverage and Cannabis Administration. The paperwork shows that the eatery will have seating for up to 75 customers, with an occupancy load of 90. Crave will, additionally, offer 70 seats for al fresco dining on a sidewalk cafe. The establishment will be open and serving up its menu Sunday through Thursday from 11 am to 12 am and from 11 am to 2 am on Friday and Saturday.
Crave Dessert Bar is the brainchild of Adam Aberra, Sheldon Osborne and Clint Medlock. Like the dish described in its name, Crave is a decadent and indulgent dining experience. The website explains: “We believe life’s best moments are often centered around the best food and drink experiences. Whether you briefly pop in for a farm-to-glass cocktail & decadent dessert, or would prefer to linger over a shareable savory plate & hookah, we invite you to get lost in the conversation and enjoy the moment.”
Despite what the name implies, Crave Dessert Bar does offer plenty of delicious savory options. Guests can look forward to dishes like short rib au jus, pizzettes, and lamb lollipops. The restaurant also features an array of signature cocktails, and-of course-plenty of sweet treats, ranging from cupcakes to cheesecakes to crème brûlée.
