Wingstop, a restaurant chain specializing in chicken wings, crispy tenders, and seasoned fries, is preparing to open a new location in Okeechobee at 3547 U.S. Highway 441 South, Suite 13.
The company recently submitted documents to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation to open in Northlake Village. The site is under construction, and the restaurant’s opening date has not been announced. The location is backed by MoMagic, a joint venture formed by Florida-based Wingstop franchise operators Chuck Soderstrom and Mike Moses.
MoMagic formed in 2024 when Soderstrom’s Magic Wingdom, based in Orlando, combined with Moses’ MoMe, based in Jacksonville, which reporting also referred to as MoMex. The two groups operated 38 Wingstop restaurants combined before joining forces. The merger brought their locations under one operator as the group continued to expand its presence in Florida and neighboring Georgia.
MoMagic has a 62-unit development agreement that could allow it to grow to more than 100 Wingstop restaurants, according to a 2024 press release. Its expansion territory includes central and northern Florida, as well as parts of southern Georgia. The group has also opened locations in communities including Melbourne, Cocoa Commons, and Palm Bay, Florida, and Kingsland, Georgia.
Wingstop was founded in Garland, Texas, in 1994 and began franchising in 1997. The company has since grown to more than 2,500 restaurants worldwide, according to its website. Its menu centers on chicken wings, with options including boneless and classic wings, crispy tenders, chicken sandwiches, and group packs.
Customers at the Okeechobee location can also expect sides, dips, drinks, and desserts. Wingstop’s menu includes seasoned fries, a variety of wing sauces and flavors, combo meals, and group ordering options. The NorthLake Village Plaza restaurant will add another location to the chain’s growing footprint in Florida.
