Cedar Hill Apothecary is preparing to expand into East Nashville, with plans to open a second location in December, according to an announcement from the company. An address has not been announced yet.

Founded by Victoria Fillmore, who runs Cedar Hill Homestead, the apothecary has a variety of tinctures, teas, skin care products, and seasonal product offerings. Fillmore’s interest in herbalism began during her childhood in the woods outside Nashville, where plants and handmade goods were part of everyday life.

The Tennessee-based business combines herbalism, homesteading, and traditional Southern plant knowledge through a collection of handcrafted remedies and personal care products. Cedar Hill Homestead draws on traditional Southern folk practices and contemporary herbal knowledge to develop its sales line. They grow some of their own ingredients and source additional materials from small family farms, its website states.

Education and community involvement are also part of the company’s business model. Cedar Hill Homestead hosts classes, plant walks, and other gatherings intended to introduce participants to herbal traditions and their environment.

Recently, Cedar Hill Apothecary posted that it is recruiting employees ahead of the new store opening, with training to happen at its existing Springfield location, where it operates at 1108 S. Main St. The company is seeking team members who are enthusiastic about plants and eager to learn.
