Hawaiian Bros Island Grill is preparing to enter Florida, with Jacksonville among four markets slated for expansion under a new agreement that calls for 52 restaurants across the state.
The fast-casual chain has partnered with Southern Rock Restaurants and Southern Rock Hawaii to develop locations in Jacksonville, Gainesville, Tampa and Orlando over the next six years. The plan calls for 24 restaurants to be developed during the first three years, according to a company announcement published October 13.
The agreement marks Hawaiian Bros’ planned entry into Florida. However, the company has not yet announced specific Jacksonville addresses or opening dates for the planned locations.
Hawaiian Bros focuses on Hawaiian-inspired plate lunches built around generous portions of protein, rice and macaroni salad. Its menu features chicken and pork served with a range of sweet, savory and spicy sauces, alongside vegetable options.
The menu also includes sides such as SPAM Musubi, macaroni salad and other island-inspired dishes. For dessert, customers can find Dole Soft Serve, a tropical soft-serve treat.
According to the company, its food is prepared without freezers, fryers or microwaves, with many menu items prepared in-house.
Southern Rock will lead the Florida development. The restaurant group is run by CEO Max Piet, who has more than 35 years of experience in the restaurant industry. The company currently operates nearly 200 restaurants as a franchisee of McAlister’s Deli and Dave’s Hot Chicken across 13 states.
Founded in 2018, Hawaiian Bros has grown to more than 80 restaurants across 14 states, according to the company. The Florida agreement adds another major market to its expansion plans.
For Jacksonville diners, the deal signals the arrival of a fast-casual concept centred on island-inspired comfort food. More details about individual locations and opening timelines are expected as the development plans progress.
Customers can find menu information and updates on the company’s official website.
