A prolific hospitality veteran is helping DC start 2027 with a bang. Geoff Dawson is bringing The Pocket, a vast bar serving up food, drinks, and fun at a reasonable price, to the National Press Building early next year, reports local media outlet PoPville.
Locals will be able to check out all The Pocket has to offer at 1332 F Street, NW. The bar will span 12,000 square feet, and Dawson and his team intend to put the space to good use. Visitors will be able to rack ‘em up at nine pool tables or enjoy the scenes on over 20 televisions.
The Pocket will have two separate bars to serve visitors an array of drinks, ranging from beers to cocktails. Hungry guests will be able to satiate their appetites with a selection of tavern favorites including burgers, salads, sandwiches, and wings.
An opening date has not yet been set for The Pocket, however the space will not need excessive work and Dawson anticipates being ready to welcome customers in about three months. However long the wait turns out to be, Dawson has his sights set on longevity. He states: “we want to be here 20 years not 2 years.”
