Raleigh’s Smoky Hollow district is preparing to welcome a new F&B venture from the team behind CUYA Cafe + Cocina. The Deb, an all-day wine bar and lounge is slated to take over the former Garlic Bay sandwich counter at Hone-Sharpen, 516 N. West St, Raleigh Magazine reports.
The announcement described the concept as a wine bar blending Italian, French, and Asian influences. It will bring wine, spritzes, nonalcoholic cocktails, and a globally influenced small plates menu to the city’s bustling mixed-use downtown area.
Coined after Debbie Harry, the lead singer and co-founder of Blondie, it’s reported that The Deb is targeting a late-fall opening.
Mexican-American restaurateur Charlie Ibarra and Executive Chef Kevin Ruiz are leading the conception of the concept. They are also known for CUYA Cafe + Cocina, a contemporary Latin cuisine restaurant.
In the surrounding area, Smoky Hollow features a pedestrian-oriented mix of local businesses and services, including several other restaurants, fitness studios, and specialty retailers, its website shows.
