Four Silos Coffee & Brewery at 143 S. Higley Road in Gilbert has new owners: Neil and Julie Garcia. The local couple had been regulars for years before taking over on October 1.

The Garcias live five minutes away and began visiting around 2020 with their four children. Four Silos became a place for family outings and date nights. They also celebrated Neil’s 40th birthday there.

“It was just a spot for our family to gather and enjoy living in Gilbert,” Julie told What Now Phoenix.

After learning that the previous owners had moved to Northern Utah, the couple contacted them through a mutual friend. Those conversations led to the purchase.

The Garcias want to preserve the reasons their family kept coming back: a place that works for morning coffee and evenings together, with neighbors sharing tables inside or sitting on the patio.

“Both of us feel like the world continues to get more and more physically siloed, separated despite all the ways that people can find to stay in touch,” Julie said. “And you can’t be physically separated when you’re here.”

This is the Garcias’ first coffee shop and bar, and they bring about 20 years of sales and customer service experience. They have no major changes planned for now and are spending time with staff and customers before deciding what comes next.

“If people want to see something different than what they’ve seen, we want to hear that. If people love what’s here and they want to maintain that, we want to hear that too,” Julie said.

One thing they have already decided to keep is the live music their family enjoyed as customers. Four Silos also serves coffee, espresso drinks, beer, and wine, with all-day breakfast, toasted sandwiches, pizzas, salads, and sweets on the menu.

The former owners will remain involved through Four Silos Brewing Co., which will continue supplying beer to the Gilbert business, according to their announcement.

Both families are working on an eighth-anniversary celebration for Saturday, November 7. Julie said plans include cookie decorating, beer stein competitions, cornhole, and live music.

In their first two weeks as owners, Julie said conversations with longtime customers have already given them plenty to look forward to.

“If we can just bring some joy and goodness into where they’re at and what they’re looking for, that’s the goal. We have found that in the last two weeks, and we just can’t wait for more,” she said.
