The “international sports pub” will open adjacent sister concept Sugar Shack in Brookhaven Station’s Pub 71 space.

Metrotainment Cafés, the restaurant group behind sports bar chain Hudson Grille, is launching a spin-off concept called Hudson FC, slated to replace Pub 71 this fall, the company announced this week.

The sports bar will open in the Brookhaven Station Shopping Center near neighboring sister concepts Sugar Shack and Hudson Grille.

“We’ve heard from a lot of our fans that they want to watch soccer games at our Hudson Grille locations, but our focus on football, basketball, baseball, etc. conflicts with many of the biggest soccer games,” Jeff Landau, Metrotainment Cafés’ CEO, said in a press release.

“Hudson FC will be a perfect opportunity for fans to catch their favorite matches and enjoy the same top quality expectations they get with our Hudson Grille restaurants, including great staff, food quality, bar program and more.”

Anticipated hours for the restaurant include opening early on weekends for morning matches with some opportunity of opening later when soccer is in off-season or no big games are those days. Hudson FC will also offer a similar but different menu that its Hudson Grille sister concept, featuring traditional pub food like Fish & Chips, a Pork and Beef Meatloaf big plate, a variety of Flatbreads and more to the menu.

The Pub 71 space will undergo “some minor renovations and construction to improve the quality of the restaurant space” in transitioning to Hudson FC, and should be open by mid-October.
