Chastain Creamery, which opened earlier this year, has plans to open a new location at forthcoming mixed-use development Hillcrest in Sandy Springs. The development will open in summer 2027, according to a release.
Chastain Creamery has one existing location in Buckhead. It offers more than 50 handcrafted ice cream flavors, including allergy-friendly options without gluten, dairy, nuts or added sugar.
“We are incredibly excited to bring Chastain Creamery to Hillcrest and become part of the vibrant Sandy Springs community,” a spokesperson for Chastain Creamery said in the release. “Our vision has always been about more than just serving exceptional ice cream. It’s about creating a place where families, friends, and neighbors can come together, make memories and enjoy life’s sweetest moments. The overwhelming support we’ve received at our Buckhead location has inspired us to continue growing, and we believe Hillcrest is the perfect setting for our next chapter.”
When it opens, Hillcrest will offer an 8.1-acre mixed-use development in Sandy Springs featuring 362 apartments, 30 for-rent townhomes, a greenspace and more than 19,000 square feet of retail space. Charlotte-based Salted Melon has also inked a lease at the development.
“Hillcrest will introduce a mix of walkable shops and restaurants with abundant patio and outdoor space,” Hank Farmer, partner at Third & Urban, said in the release. “Residents will have options steps away from their front door, and visitors will have a reason to stay awhile. Salted Melon and Chastain Creamery already have local followings and will fit right in with the community we are creating here. We’re in active negotiations with several more tenants and can’t wait to share who’s next.”
