United Contracting Group LLC is a commercial general contracting and specialty architectural coatings firm that has been serving since 2002. The company recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, reporting estimated liabilities of up to $10 million and more than $1 million in unsecured creditor claims.

Note: Chapter 11 allows businesses to reorganize their debts while continuing operations under court supervision. United Contracting Group LLC has filed for Chapter 11 subchapter V. This provides a streamlined process for qualifying small business debtors. A Chapter 11 filing does not necessarily mean that a business is closing. For additional information, readers are encouraged to contact the business directly.

Overview of the Filing

United Contracting Group LLC submitted a Chapter 11 petition on October 29. Authorized representative Jarod Huston signed the petition before it was filed.

Case records on RK Consultants identify the company as a small business debtor, and add that it is moving ahead using a Subchapter V filing.

The proceedings are taking place in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona.

Highlights from the Petition

Court records show that United Contracting Group LLC submitted a list of creditors with the largest unsecured claims. These include Alpha Services LLC, Ford Motor Credit, Riley P. Michel, Kapitus Servicing Inc., and others.

The petition indicates that no funds will be available for distribution to unsecured creditors after administrative expenses are paid.

The company also faces a financial imbalance as its estimated range of liabilities outpaces its assets.
