Sembler gets beefy

Minnesota-based Lifetime Fitness, the gym chain giant, is in talks for its fifth Atlanta location at The Prado redevelopment, according to Bisnow Atlanta.

The Prado redevelopment project on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs is owned by The Sembler Co.

Situated inside the I-285 perimeter, The Prado encompasses 345,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and office space and is encored by Target.

The mega gym is applying for space that was originally slated for Home Depot, according to Lifetime’s Karen Jayne Leinberger.

Home Depot canceled plans for the store as the housing crisis mounted.

The City of Sandy Springs approved plans back in October and if everything moves forward as planned, construction is scheduled to begin in early 2011.

The fitness center will develop a three-story, 144,000 square foot facility.
