UPDATE (September 8, 2017): The Ritz-Carlton Buckhead To Be Rebranded as The Whitley

The Ritz-Carlton Buckhead will unveil in 2017 a new café and “lobby lounge,” a company spokesperson told What Now Atlanta in an email Wednesday.

“After 33 years, we are excited to announce that our hotel will undergo a multi-million dollar transformation of our Café and Lobby Lounge in 2017 which will result in one, new restaurant and bar, an additional ballroom with outdoor event space.”

A building permit application was this week filed with City of Atlanta for the project which should cost an estimated $5,000,000.

Including the new ballroom and outdoor event space, the hotel’s renovation-area is 15,880 square feet in total, according to the permit.

It’s unclear where the new ballroom will be built but the permit does call for “land development.”

The Ritz-Carlton Downtown recently completed renovations to its in-house restaurant, originally Atlanta Grill since 1999, now steakhouse AG which debuted earlier this year.
