The restaurant replaces the former Chow Baby on Howell Mill Road under the same ownership.
One Rooster Mongolian Grill, a new concept from Mike Blum, the “original founder” of Chow Baby, is slated to open Wednesday, February 15, the restaurant late last week announced on its Facebook page.
“We are nearing the finish line…can’t wait to show you all what we have been working on,” according to the post which included a picture of One Rooster’s passing health inspection, one of the final steps in opening a new restaurant.
One Rooster, originally planned for a mid-2016 opening, replaces Chow Baby at 1016 Howell Mill Rd NW. Chow Baby abruptly shuttered at the end of 2014 and Blum in early 2015 took back the space for One Rooster.
Blum and his team have spent the past few years transforming the space into One Rooster, offering an “expanded covered outdoor seating and a larger full-service bar overlooking Howell Mill,” according to the restaurant’s Facebook page.
One Rooster could be similar to the Chow Baby concept with its “create your own stir-fry” model, except this time with a “Polynesian flare.”
